Football Recap: Northside - Pinetown Piles Up the Points Against Hobgood Charter

Northside - Pinetown had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging a 48-7 victory over the Hobgood Charter Raiders. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Panthers' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 151st, while the Raiders are ranked 379th).

Sincere Columbus had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 152 yards and four scores on only 12 carries. That's the most rushing touchdowns he has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Malachi Moore, who rushed for 114 yards and one TD on only five carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Northside - Pinetown was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 365 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 184 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

When it comes to explaining why Hobgood Charter lost, don't look at Armanti Alston. Despite the final result, he rushed for 70 yards and one touchdown on only nine carries, and also picked up 41 receiving yards.

Northside - Pinetown pushed their record up to 11-0 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 43.3 points over those games. As for Hobgood Charter, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6.

Coming up, Northside - Pinetown will take on Bear Grass Charter at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bears' defense has only allowed 12.8 points per game this season, so the Panthers' offense will have their work cut out for them. Hobgood Charter does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
