Basketball Game Preview: Florida School for the Deaf & Blind Dragons vs. Maryland School for the Deaf Orioles

The Florida School for the Deaf & Blind Dragons and the Maryland School for the Deaf Orioles will face off at 2:30 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Florida School for the Deaf & Blind saw some tournament action on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Model Secondary School for the Deaf 57-21. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Dragons.

Meanwhile, everything went Maryland School for the Deaf's way against California School for the Deaf on Thursday as Maryland School for the Deaf made off with a 38-14 win. Given the Orioles' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 164th in Maryland, while the Eagles are ranked 871st in California), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Florida School for the Deaf & Blind's victory bumped their record up to 11-3. As for Maryland School for the Deaf, the win got them back to even at 7-7.

Florida School for the Deaf & Blind couldn't quite finish off Maryland School for the Deaf when the teams last played back in January of 2023 and fell 40-38. Can Florida School for the Deaf & Blind avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
