Softball Recap: Lake Highland Prep Comes Up Short

Lake Highland Prep was the 18-1 winner over Windermere Prep when they last played one another back in March of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Lake Highland Prep Highlanders came up short against the Windermere Prep Lakers on Friday, falling 14-3.

Lake Highland Prep saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emma Kennedy, who went 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple was Kennedy's first of the season.

Lake Highland Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Windermere Prep, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 5-1.

Looking ahead, Lake Highland Prep will head out to take on Orangewood Christian at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Orangewood Christian has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.8 runs per game on average), something Lake Highland Prep will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Windermere Prep, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Geneva at 4:30 p.m. Windermere Prep knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Geneva likes a good challenge.
