Volleyball Preview: Marshfield Meets Holmen

Marshfield has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Holmen Vikings at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Marshfield is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They blew past Eau Claire North 3-0.

The final set scores came out to 25-19, 25-8, 25-10.

Meanwhile, Holmen waltzed into their match on Thursday with seven straight wins...and they left with eight. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Spartans.

Holmen had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final set scores wound up at 21-25, 25-22, 25-14, 25-13.

Holmen's win came from a few key players Marshfield will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Kaila Casberg, who had 18 digs and three assists. The team also got some help from Taylor Wucki, who had 10 digs and four aces.

Marshfield came up short against Holmen in their most recent meeting on October 4, 2025 last season, falling 2-0. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat, or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll have the answer soon enough.
