Preview: Halifax Academy vs. Cocoa Beach
Cocoa Beach will challenge Halifax Academy on the road at 7:00 PM on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Cocoa Beach made easy work of Warner Christian Academy last week and carried off a 33-0 victory. No one had a better game by the numbers than senior Ryan Tsarnas, who brought his A game into the match. He rushed for 132 yards and 2 touchdowns. One of the most memorable plays of the match was Tsarnas's 91-yard touchdown rush in the first quarter.
Meanwhile, Halifax Academy simply couldn't be stopped, as they easily beat Florida School for the Deaf 40-0. Halifax Academy was expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the state rankings had forecast.
Their wins lifted both teams to an identical 1-1. With both Halifax Academy and Cocoa Beach swaggering in after impressive performances, it will be interesting to see which team steps up to teach the other some humility.
