Basketball Recap: First Coast Buccaneers vs. Westside Wolverines
First Coast lost against Westside back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The First Coast Buccaneers took a 44-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Westside Wolverines. The Buccaneers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, First Coast still got an impressive performance from Sha'Niah Bennett, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 20 rebounds. Bennett is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played.

Even though they lost, First Coast smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 29 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in December of 2023.
Westside was led to victory by Mauriah Banks and Saniyah Perine. Banks posted 20 points, while Perine put up 15 points. Those 20 points gave Banks a new career-high.
First Coast's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Westside, with the win, they broke their nine-game losing streak and moved their record to 1-8.
First Coast will welcome Nease at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Westside, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 59-32 loss against St. Johns Country Day on the 13th.
