Softball Recap: Bloomfield Continues Home Dominance on Tuesday

Bloomfield came tearing into Tuesday's contest with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.5 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They never let the Penn Yan Academy Mustangs get on the board and left with a 13-0 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 14-0 back in April.

Ashlyn Wright made a splash no matter where she played. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brianna Leitten, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Addison Falsone, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Bloomfield kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in six consecutive games.

Bloomfield pushed their record up to 16-1 with the win, which was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 11.9 runs this season. As for Penn Yan Academy, they are on an 18-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-17.

As of now, neither Bloomfield nor the Mustangs have any future games scheduled.
