Smithtown East extended their postseason success on Thursday against Smithtown West. They came out on top against Smithtown West by a score of 3-1. Winning may never get old, but the Bulls sure are getting used to it with their eighth in a row.
Smithtown East had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 24-26, 25-16, 25-13, 25-13.
Lily Sullivan was a one-woman wrecking crew as she had 18 digs and three assists. That's the most digs she has posted since October 6th.
Smithtown East was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 15 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Smithtown West only served four.
Smithtown West's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nicole Zarcone, who had nine digs and two aces.
Smithtown East's victory bumped their record up to 27-4-5. As for Smithtown West, their loss dropped their record down to 22-6-2.
As of now, neither Smithtown East nor Smithtown West have any future games scheduled.
