Basketball Recap: Wheeler's Luck Changes for the Better on Thursday

Wheeler had lost seven straight headed into Thursday's contest, but Izabela Schumacher didn't let it get to eight. The Wheeler Bearcats put the hurt on the Boone Grove Wolves with a sharp 57-36 victory on Thursday thanks in part to Schumacher, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 18 rebounds. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points.

Wheeler's win bumped their record up to 4-13. As for Boone Grove, they dropped their record down to 1-14 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road.

Wheeler has already played their next match, a 40-32 victory against Whiting on the 18th. As for Boone Grove, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Kouts at 7:00 p.m. on January 30th.
