Softball Recap: Tuesday's Win Is Albuquerque's Sixth in Last Eight Outings

Albuquerque won against West Mesa on Friday with 15 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. The Bulldogs beat the Rio Grande Ravens by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 15-5. Considering the Bulldogs have won 13 matches by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Emma Gonzalez was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. She continues to improve, besting her previous run total in each of the last three games she's played. Honey Fields also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Albuquerque always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .676. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rio Grande only posted an OBP of .375.

Albuquerque is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.6 runs over those games. As for Rio Grande, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-12.

Coming up, Albuquerque will face off against Dexter at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The Demons will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something the Bulldogs surely won't give up without a fight. As for Rio Grande, they will challenge East Mountain at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Ravens are facing the Timberwolves at the right time seeing as the Timberwolves are stuck on a 22-game losing streak.
