Baseball Game Preview: Proctor Academy Hornets vs. Holderness Bulls

The Proctor Academy Hornets will venture away from home to challenge the Holderness Bulls at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

On Friday, Proctor Academy came up short against St. Paul's and fell 5-1. The Hornets haven't had much luck with the Big Red recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Proctor Academy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jack Read, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Meanwhile, Holderness hadn't done well against New Hampton School recently (they were 0-5 in their previous five matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Bulls blew past the Huskies 9-3. The Bulls not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since May 4, 2024 (when they won 12-3).

Proctor Academy's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Holderness, their win bumped their record up to 2-5.

Proctor Academy took their victory against Holderness when the teams last played last Wednesday by a conclusive 11-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hornets since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
