Basketball Recap: Wooster Comes Up Short

Wooster was the 62-59 winner over Perry when they last played one another back in December of 2018, but their luck changed this time around. The Wooster Generals came up short against the Perry Panthers on Tuesday, falling 72-48. The loss was the Generals' first of the season.

Perry's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Drake Jacobsen, who went 7 for 11 on his way to 21 points in addition to six assists and six boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Nico Martelli, who posted 14 points along with six boards and four steals.

Having lost for the first time this season, Wooster fell to 2-1. As for Perry, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Wooster will face off against Medina at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Perry, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against GlenOak at 6:45 p.m. Perry knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully GlenOak likes a good challenge.
