Softball Recap: Bucksport Picks Up Tenth Straight Win on the Road

Bucksport put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They never let the Foxcroft Academy Ponies get on the board and left with a 19-0 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Golden Bucks also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Natalie Simpson made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles.

In other batting news, Lexi Raymond and Marina Keene did most of the damage at the plate: Raymond went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, four RBI, and one stolen base, while Keene got on base in all five of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Addison Harvey was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Bucksport kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits every time they've taken the field this season.

Bucksport pushed their record up to 3-0 with the victory, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Foxcroft Academy, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.
