Recap: Vincent Yellow Jackets vs. Isabella Mustangs
After flying high against the Woodland Bobcats last Friday, The Vincent Yellow Jackets came back down to earth. Vincent took a 35-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of Isabella on Friday. Vincent was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Isabella apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2022.
Despite the loss, Vincent still got an impressive performance from Rykelus Robertson, who rushed for 143 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.5 yards per carry. Robertson was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 55 yards.
Elijah Kendrick continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Isabella, rushing for 130 yards and three touchdowns, while also throwing for 100 yards and a touchdown while completing 83.3% of his passes.
Vincent's defeat dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Isabella, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Vincent will take on Thorsby at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Alabama (Thorsby is ranked 218th, while Vincent is ranked 243rd). As for Isabella, they will head out on the road to face off against Woodland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
