Baseball Recap: Happy Valley Comes Up Short

Happy Valley was the 20-1 winner over North Greene when they last played one another last Tuesday, but their luck changed this time around. The Warriors took a 9-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Huskies on Tuesday. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Cade Kendall made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and three runs. He has become a key player for Happy Valley: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 7-8-1 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Grady Goulds, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

Happy Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 10-9-1. As for North Greene, their win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-10.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Happy Valley will square off against Gatlinburg-Pittman at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for North Greene, they will face off against University School at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Buccaneers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so the Huskies' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
