League recap: Bird extends winning streak with victory over Cosby

AAA Dominion recap Oct. 9, 2012

Bird extended the longest winning streak in AAA Dominion this week by beating Cosby, 16-7. The victory was the sixth in a row for the Skyhawks.

Manchester led the league in scoring this week after putting up 41 points on Clover Hill. Ty Moss threw for 168 yards and two touchdowns and ran for seven yards in the win.

The Lancers' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Carlos Morales chipped in 95 yards. Jonathan Duhart helped Manchester's passing attack out by catching four balls for 123 yards.

Myles Brathwaite was the best wideout in the league this week as Manchester bested the Cavaliers. Brathwaite tallied four receptions for 173 yards.

Wes Muto provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Tom Hall's team beat Clover Hill. He completed four passes for 181 yards and one touchdown and also ran for 14 yards.

Thanks to the talents of Justin Joyce and Taylor Stout Midlothian has been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Joyce leads the league in passing with 617 yards, while Stout has rushed for 374 yards this season. The Lancers' Brathwaite leads the league in receiving yards with 463 on 16 catches.

A big matchup in AAA Dominion this week will be when the Trojans take on Bird. Midlothian is currently in third, while David Bedwell's team is in first.
