Basketball Game Preview: Jenkintown Drakes vs. Lehigh Valley Academy Jaguars

The Jenkintown Drakes will head out to face off against the Lehigh Valley Academy Jaguars at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with 13 consecutive losses for Jenkintown and six for Lehigh Valley Academy.

On Thursday, Jenkintown lost to Chester Charter Scholars Academy at home by a 66-49 margin. While losing is never fun, the Drakes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 682nd, while the Sabers are ranked 140th).

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 74-44, which was the final score in Lehigh Valley Academy's tilt against Brandywine Heights Area on Saturday.

Jenkintown will have to keep a close watch on Anders Heiney and Davien Orozco, a pair of players who had a big impact on Lehigh Valley Academy's prior game. Heiney posted 15 points, while Orozco had 11 points. Donovan Roche also deserves some recognition as he scored his first points of the season.

Jenkintown's record is now 1-15. As for Lehigh Valley Academy, their record is now 3-13.

Jenkintown took their victory against Lehigh Valley Academy in their previous matchup back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 62-42. The rematch might be a little tougher for Jenkintown since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
