Cedar Catholic took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Homer Knights 2-1. This was payback for the Trojans, who suffered a 2-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Cedar Catholic got the one that really mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 17-25, 25-12.

Addison Walter paced Cedar Catholic's offense, picking up six kills. Walter got some help from Reese Albers and her five assists. Kally Becker controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Coincidentally, Cedar Catholic and Homer will both be playing Randolph the next time they take the court. The Knights will head out to face the Cardinals at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Trojans will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
