Softball Recap: Gaylord Takes a Loss

Gaylord lost against Ravenna on Monday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Blue Devils took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bulldogs. The Blue Devils have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Lily Ryckman Hall was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Aubrey Jones, who got on base in two of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

Gaylord's loss dropped their record down to 20-6. As for Ravenna, their victory was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 19-4.

When Gaylord and Ravenna next hit the field, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. The Blue Devils will try to stop Evart's nine-game winning streak when they meet at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Gaylord 3.9, the Wildcats 1.6) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Ravenna will take on Newaygo and their four-game winning streak at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.
