Softball Recap: Nocona Comes Up Short

Nocona was the 9-6 winner over Alvord when they last played one another back in April of 2025, but their luck changed this time around. The Indians lost 15-3 to the Bulldogs on Tuesday. That's two games in a row now that the Indians have lost by exactly 12 runs.

Nocona saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ma'Leigha Franklin, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

This is the second loss in a row for Nocona and nudges their season record down to 3-9. As for Alvord, the win was their first on the road, bumping their record up to 3-5-1.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Nocona is set to take on their familiar foe Chico at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Alvord will challenge rival Era at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
