Baseball Game Preview: Frazier Mountain Falcons vs. Kern Valley Broncs

Frazier Mountain is on a ten-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, and Kern Valley a three-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Friday. The Frazier Mountain Falcons will be playing at home against the Kern Valley Broncs at 3:15 p.m. Frazier Mountain has given up an average of 20 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Frazier Mountain fell victim to Rosamond and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They came up short against the Roadrunners, falling 15-0.

Frazier Mountain saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Taylor Juarez, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Meanwhile, Kern Valley made easy work of Desert on Tuesday and carried off a 13-3 victory. The win continues a trend for the Broncs in their matchups with the Scorpions: they've now won seven in a row.

Jackson Price made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. Price was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ethan Stockwell, who scored three runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-3. He has become a key player for Kern Valley: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 2-4 otherwise. Owinn Liske was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Kern Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Kern Valley now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Frazier Mountain, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.

Frazier Mountain might still be hurting after the 21-1 defeat they got from Kern Valley in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Falcons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
