Softball Recap: Central Cabarrus Finds Home Field Redemption Against Mount Pleasant

There's no place like home for Central Cabarrus, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They walked away with a 9-6 win over the Mount Pleasant Tigers on Thursday. This was payback for the Vikings, who suffered an 11-10 loss the last time these two teams met.

Taryn Jenkins spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered six earned runs on seven hits and racked up 12 Ks.

At the plate, Haley Rezy was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Hayden Johnson was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

The victory got Central Cabarrus back to even at 1-1. As for Mount Pleasant, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-2.

Central Cabarrus wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 14-4 win against Carson on the 28th. As for Mount Pleasant, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 6-3 victory against Northwest Cabarrus on the 3rd.
