Volleyball Game Preview: Telluride Miners vs. Nucla Mustangs

The Telluride Miners will face off against the Nucla Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Telluride is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Dolores just ended the team's six-match winning streak on Thursday. They lost 3-0 to the Bears.

The final score came out to 25-20, 25-13, 25-12.

Meanwhile, Nucla hadn't done well against Dove Creek recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Mustangs were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Bulldogs.

The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-21, 25-20.

Nucla has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-9 record this season. As for Telluride, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-5.

Telluride took their win against Nucla when the teams last played back in September of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. Will the Miners repeat their success, or do the Mustangs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
