Volleyball Game Preview: Cypress Bay Lightning vs. Wellington Wolverines + How To Watch

The Cypress Bay Lightning will square off against the Wellington Wolverines at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Cypress Bay sitting on four straight victories and Wellington on three.

Cypress Bay is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They came out on top against Doral Academy by a score of 3-1.

While Cypress Bay might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Doral Academy scored at least 18 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 27-25, 25-18, 23-25, 25-21.

Meanwhile, Wellington beat Palm Beach Central 3-1 on Thursday.

Wellington had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 17-25, 25-22, 25-10, 25-16.

Wellington's win bumped their record up to 12-8. As for Cypress Bay, their victory bumped their record up to 15-7.

Cypress Bay took their win against Wellington in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. Will the Lightning repeat their success, or do the Wolverines have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
