Volleyball Recap: Holy Spirit Prep Snags Fourth Victory in Last Five Games

Holy Spirit Prep's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Cherokee Christian Warriors by a score of 3-1. This was payback for the Cougars, who suffered a 3-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

Holy Spirit Prep had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 20-25, 25-15, 25-13, 25-21.

Modupe Brown paced Holy Spirit Prep's offense, picking up 24 kills. Brown got some help from Ariana Lajara and her 34 assists. Lajara was also solid from the service line: she led the team with eight aces.

Holy Spirit Prep is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-6 record this season. As for Cherokee Christian, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-10.

Coming up, Holy Spirit Prep will challenge Heritage at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Cherokee Christian, they will square off against Cornerstone Prep Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
