The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Christian Brothers Academy has seven straight wins, Ranney has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Christian Brothers Academy is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of New Jersey's top teams: Red Bank Regional, who was ranked 23rd at the time (Christian Brothers Academy was ranked 21st). Christian Brothers Academy came out on top in a nail-biter against Red Bank Regional on Saturday, sneaking past 51-49. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Colts have posted since December 18, 2023.

Meanwhile, Ranney came up short against Red Bank Catholic on Saturday and fell 72-59.

Christian Brothers Academy pushed their record up to 12-3 with the win, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Ranney, their loss dropped their record down to 7-6.

Christian Brothers Academy didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Ranney in their previous matchup on January 9th, but they still walked away with a 68-64 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Christian Brothers Academy since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
