Football Recap: Holt Piles Up the Points Against Waverly + How To Watch

Holt never got on the board in their matchup last Friday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Waverly on Friday. They really took it to the Warriors for the full four quarters, racking up a 42-7 victory. The result was nothing new for the Rams, who have now won four contests by 28 points or more so far this season.

Holt's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ladon Hatcher, who rushed for 148 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 12 carries, and also caught one score. With that strong performance, Hatcher is now averaging an impressive 101.7 rushing yards per game. Holt also got a significant boost from Ethan Melville, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 90 yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Holt was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 344 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Holt's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB six times. Blake Bristow was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two sacks himself. Another thorn in Waverly's side was Laterion Perkins, who made six total tackles and defended two passes in addition to snagging an interception.

Holt now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Waverly, they dropped their record down to 0-7 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Holt didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 28-21 loss against Everett on the 17th. As for Waverly, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 45-6 defeat against East Lansing on the 17th.
