Basketball Game Preview: Panguitch Bobcats vs. Valley Buffalos

Panguitch has gone 9-1 against Valley recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Panguitch Bobcats will look to defend their home court against the Valley Buffalos at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Panguitch took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They blew past Piute 54-30.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Panguitch to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mallory Henrie, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds. Henrie's evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tayt Miller, who posted eight points along with 12 boards and five assists.

Meanwhile, you're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Valley on Saturday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew Monticello out of the water with a 52-21 final score. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 29-1.

Valley pushed their record up to 11-6 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.2 points per game. As for Panguitch, their win bumped their record up to 13-5.

Panguitch beat Valley 40-31 in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. Will Panguitch repeat their success, or does Valley have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
