Basketball Game Preview: Wells Pirates vs. Broaddus Bulldogs

The Wells Pirates are taking a road trip to take on the Broaddus Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Last Wednesday, Wells made easy work of Centerville and carried off a 52-30 win.

Meanwhile, Broaddus had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 60.3 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They blew past the Tigers, posting a 72-4 victory. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 158th, while the Tigers are ranked 1353rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Broaddus' win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 24-4. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 17.5 points per game. As for Wells, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 11-15 record this season.

Wells was taken down by Broaddus 88-23 in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. Can Wells avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
