Softball Game Preview: Covington Trojans vs. North Vermillion Falcons

For the second straight game, Covington will face off against North Vermillion. The Trojans will be playing at home against the Falcons at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Having struggled with five defeats in a row, Covington turned things around against North Vermillion on Monday. They walked away with an 11-8 victory over the Falcons.

Alexus Peaslee spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and four unearned) runs on ten hits.

At the plate, Preslee Shaw was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Alex Sutherlin was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Covington was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .346 or higher in three consecutive matchups.

Covington's win bumped their record up to 8-14. As for North Vermillion, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-12.
