The American Heritage Stallions will take on the Calvary Christian Academy Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
American Heritage will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs back in March, then bounced right back against Atlantic on Tuesday. The Stallions put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 20-6 victory.
American Heritage got a massive performance out of Victoria Kovic, who went 2-for-3 with five RBI, one stolen base, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Briyanna Dodin, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
American Heritage was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .571. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Calvary Christian Academy's rock-solid pitchers showed up for the team's fourth consecutive shutout last Tuesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Pine Crest a 15-0 shutout. The win continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won four in a row.
Reese Mittauer was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one hit in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2.
In other batting news, Addison Mittauer was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March of 2024. Sofia Fine was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two runs.
Calvary Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for American Heritage, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Wednesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. American Heritage has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .564. However, it's not like Calvary Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've averaged .538.
