Baseball Recap: Berkshire Takes a Loss

Berkshire made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Kirtland, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Badgers fell just short of the Hornets by a score of 6-4 on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Badgers have suffered against the Hornets since May 4, 2023.

Christopher Brancel put in work while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Brancel was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one run and one double.

In other batting news, Patrick Brancel was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.

Berkshire's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Kirtland, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Looking ahead, Kirtland will be playing at home against Villa Angela-St. Joseph at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Berkshire will be paying especially close attention to the Hornets' contest: after the Hornets face off against the Vikings, they'll take on Berkshire again at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
