Football Recap: Trent Bray Leads Sebastopol's Defense on Friday

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Clarkdale, Sebastopol was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They walked away with a 32-20 win over the Pelahatchie Chiefs. Considering the Bobcats' offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Dannon Jenkins was a one-man wrecking crew as he rushed for 155 yards and one touchdown while picking up 7.4 yards per carry. Those 155 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Trent Bray also helped with two TDs in total.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Sebastopol was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 227 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Sebastopol didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Bray. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

The victory snapped Sebastopol's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 2-3 record. As for Pelahatchie, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Coming up, Sebastopol will head out on the road to square off against Noxapater at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers' defense has only allowed 13.4 points per game this season, so the Bobcats' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Pelahatchie, they will welcome West Lincoln at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Chiefs will be up against the Bears' rather soft defense (which has allowed 40.4 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
