Softball Recap: Clarksville Wins Going Away Against Northwest

Clarksville's game on Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They blew past the Northwest Vikings 15-0. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by six runs or more this season.

Kalea Masigat looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on MacKenzie White, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooke Wright, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Clarksville is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.9 runs on average over those games. As for Northwest, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.

Clarksville didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 19-0 win against Northeast on the 15th. As for Northwest, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 17-5 loss against Kirkwood on the 14th.
