Basketball Recap: Riley High's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Marco Island Academy over Southwest Florida Christian

Marco Island Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 57-33 to the Southwest Florida Christian King. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the King's this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 41-14 two weeks ago.

Marco Island Academy's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Riley High, who posted 13 points. Another player making a difference was Aubrey Webber, who had eight points.

Marco Island Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Southwest Florida Christian, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-2.

Coming up, Marco Island Academy will face off against The Village School of Naples at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Southwest Florida Christian, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Canterbury at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
