Basketball Recap: Mt. Pleasant Takes a Loss

Mt. Pleasant was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 44-41 heartbreaker at the hands of the Lewis County Panthers. The Tigers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Panthers earlier this season, when they won 64-52.

When it comes to explaining why Mt. Pleasant lost, don't look at Ryan Benderman. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double with ten points and ten boards. Another player making a difference was Jayden McClure, who posted eight points and five rebounds.

Mt. Pleasant's defeat dropped their record down to 15-7. As for Lewis County, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 13-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mt. Pleasant will venture away from home to face off against Cascade at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Mt. Pleasant is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.7 points per game this season. As for Lewis County, they will take on Summertown at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
