Football Recap: Land O' Lakes Comes Up Short + How To Watch

If Land O' Lakes was feeling good fresh off their 44-20 takedown of Dunedin last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Gators had to suffer through a 39-7 loss at the hands of the Zephyrhills Bulldogs. The Gators were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 26-0.

Chance Houston threw for 79 yards on ten of 18 attempts. Dylan Richardson was his top target, picking up 38 receiving yards. On the ground, Elisha Melendez rushed for 82 yards.

Zephyrhills had a senior duo take command as Roe Miller rushed for 137 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.6 yards per carry and Patrick Harding threw for 222 yards and three TDs while completing 78.6% of his passes. With that strong performance, Miller is now averaging an impressive 106.5 rushing yards per game. Kingston McCullough did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 83 receiving yards.

Land O' Lakes' loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Zephyrhills, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Looking ahead, Land O' Lakes will head out on the road to take on Leesburg at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Zephyrhills, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Gulf at 7:30 p.m.
