Football Recap: Chestatee War Eagles vs. Pickens Dragons
After flying high against Johnson two weeks ago, Chestatee came back down to earth. The War Eagles lost to the Pickens Dragons on the road by a 45-28 margin on Friday. The matchup was a 21-21 toss-up at halftime, but the War Eagles couldn't quite close it out.

Chestatee's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Colton Steele, who rushed for 69 yards and one score, and also caught one TD. The War Eagles also got help from Cody Couch, who showed off his sure hands for 83 receiving yards.
This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Cal Morrison and Ike Wyngaard. Morrison rushed for 138 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only ten carries while Wyngaard rushed for 121 yards and a pair of scores on only 13 carries.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Chestatee will head out to challenge Dawson County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. That game will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Benjamin Plemons and Cody Mcbrayer. As for Pickens, they will venture away from home to square off against Johnson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Dragons will be up against the Knights' rather soft defense (which has allowed 55.43 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
