Volleyball Recap: Fort Sumner/House Comes Up Short

After flying high against Hagerman on Friday, Fort Sumner/House came back down to earth. Fort Sumner/House came up short against the Cloudcroft Bears on Saturday, falling 3-0. If Fort Sumner/House was looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to Cloudcroft when the teams met back in September of 2022, then they'll just have to keep looking.

While Fort Sumner/House had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-20, 25-18.

Fort Sumner/House has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season. As for Cloudcroft, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fort Sumner/House will welcome Maxwell at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Cloudcroft, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Hot Springs at 6:00 p.m. on October 7.
