Basketball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Cascade

Cascade had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They strolled past the Heart Butte Warriors with points to spare, taking the game 53-36. The Badgers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Warriors, too.

Sophia Mortag had a dynamite game for Cascade, almost dropping a triple-double on 22 points, 13 boards, and nine steals.

Cascade is also on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.2 points per game. As for Heart Butte, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cascade will square off against Big Sandy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Heart Butte, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Great Falls Central Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on January 30th.
