Basketball Recap: Colleton County Cougars vs. Hilton Head Island Seahawks
Colleton County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They lost 53-31 to the Hilton Head Island Seahawks. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Seahawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 42-28 back in January.

Several Cougars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Zariona Hudson, who posted eight points and four steals. Hudson has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played. Carlasia Sanders was another key player, putting up six points and three steals.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hilton Head Island to victory, but perhaps none more so than Amaya Wroten, who went 6 for 7 en route to 13 points along with six boards and three steals. The dominant performance also gave Wroten a new career-high in field goal percentage (86%). Another player making a difference was Aliana Richard, who went 6 of 8 to rack up 12 points and four steals.
Colleton County's loss dropped their record down to 6-16. As for Hilton Head Island, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-12.
Coming up, Colleton County is taking a road trip to challenge Bishop England at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bishop England knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Colleton County likes a good challenge. As for Hilton Head Island, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Beaufort at 6:00 p.m.
