Football Recap: Middle Creek Finds Playoff Glory Versus West Brunswick + How To Watch

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Middle Creek had no problem doing just that on Friday. They blew past the West Brunswick Trojans 52-20. Considering the Mustangs have won seven games by more than 22 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Lex Sevilla had an outrageously good game as he threw for 186 yards and one touchdown while completing 71.4% of his passes, and also rushed for 87 yards on only eight carries. Those 87 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Ezra Jobe was another key player, rushing for 41 yards and three TDs.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Middle Creek was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 215 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 187 rushing yards in three consecutive contests.

Middle Creek has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 41.0 points over those games. As for West Brunswick, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-5.

Looking ahead, Middle Creek will host Southern Alamance at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. West Brunswick does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
