The Crystal River Pirates will venture away from home to face off against the Trenton Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Crystal River is coming into the contest hot, having won their last eight games.
Crystal River's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They walked away with a 5-0 victory over Lecanto.

Violet Flynn was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 12 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 21 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That home run was her first of the season.
Flynn wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Athena Childs, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
Meanwhile, Trenton waltzed into their game on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Bulldogs by a score of 8-5.
Like Crystal River, Trenton also got a great game from a two-way player: MacKenzie Fisher. On the mound, she tossed seven innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. Fisher was also solid in the batter's box, earning one RBI, one run, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Makenna Young was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high.
Trenton hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive contests.
Crystal River pushed their record up to 20-4 with the win, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.2 runs over those games. As for Trenton, their record is now 12-6.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Crystal River has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 11.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Trenton struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 9.3 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Crystal River beat Trenton 9-6 in their previous matchup two weeks ago. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pirates since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
