Baseball Recap: Newman Catholic Comes Up Short

Newman Catholic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-6 heartbreaker at the hands of the Van Meter Bulldogs. That's two games in a row now that the Knights have lost by just one run.

Newman Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Van Meter, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Newman Catholic beat the Bulldogs by a score of 8-3 later that day.
