Volleyball Recap: Springfield Takes a Loss

Springfield entered their matchup against East on Wednesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Cougars fell just short of the Vikings by a score of 3-2. If the Cougars were looking for revenge after losing 3-2 to the Vikings when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Springfield actually scored more points across those five sets (94-92), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 9-25, 25-15, 18-25, 15-9.

Springfield's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for East, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Springfield will host Lower Merion at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for East, they will be playing at home against Bishop Shanahan at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
