Softball Recap: Saturday's Win Is Notre Dame Prep's Tenth in Last 11 Outings

Notre Dame Prep's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Horizon Huskies a 5-0 shutout. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

The result came thanks to Marley Caldwell's shutout, as she gave up just three hits and racked up 15 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 17 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Notre Dame Prep let Daelynn Flowers and Kendall Gillham run wild. Flowers went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one run, while Gillham went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Isabella Imwalle was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.

Notre Dame Prep has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-7 record this season. As for Horizon, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-13.
