Recap: Scarborough Spartans vs. Washington Eagles
The Scarborough Spartans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fifth straight loss. They were outmatched by Washington on the road and fell 62-12. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Scarborough in their matchups with Washington: they've now lost seven in a row.
Washington's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Danaya Pope led the charge by scoring 26 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Pope has scored at least a third of Washington's points. Kendyl Harvey was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Scarborough's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Washington, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season.
Scarborough will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Wheatley at 10:00 a.m. on January 27th. Washington's road trip will continue as they head out to face Kashmere at 7:30 p.m. on January 17th.
