Softball Recap: Browerville Snaps Three-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Browerville had lost three games on the road, but after bumping their record up to 3-3 on Thursday that streak is in the rearview. They came out on top against the Mille Lacs co-op [Isle/Onamia] Huskies by a score of 4-1. The Tigers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Huskies, too.

As for Mille Lacs co-op [Isle/Onamia], they suffered their first home loss, dropping their record down to 4-4. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.

For Mille Lacs co-op [Isle/Onamia]'s part, Brooklyn Orazem was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits. Orazem was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Orazem wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Dani Larson, who went 1-for-3 with one triple. That triple was Larson's first of the season.

Looking ahead, Browerville will square off against Upsala at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mille Lacs co-op [Isle/Onamia], they will take on Aitkin at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Huskies' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Gobblers have averaged an impressive 11.2 runs per game this season.
