Basketball Recap: Keith Comes Up Short

After flying high against Southside on Friday, Keith came back down to earth. The Keith Bears were dealt a 52-19 defeat at the hands of the Selma Saints on Saturday. The contest marked the Bears' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Selma's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Rod?Neisha Parker led the charge by putting up 18 points. Safiya White was another key player, posting 13 points.

Keith's loss dropped their record down to 11-4. As for Selma, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 8-1.

Keith will take on Tuscaloosa County in a holiday battle at at 5:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Selma, they will venture away from home to take on Montgomery Academy at 12:30 p.m. on Friday. The timing isn't great for Montgomery Academy: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while Selma has snatched up five consecutive wins on the road dating back to last season.
