Softball Recap: Bishop Carroll Huskies vs. Clearfield Bison
Bishop Carroll had lost nine straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 1-10 to make it ten. They came up short against the Clearfield Bison, falling 16-0. The Huskies were not able to make up for their defeat to the Bison from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.
As for Clearfield, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-8. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
For Clearfield's part, Megan Wisor was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Wisor has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI and one double. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Clearfield got a massive performance out of Raigan Uncles, who went 1-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI Uncles has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Eve Siegel, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Bishop Carroll is set to face off against their familiar foe Chestnut Ridge at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Clearfield will square off against rival Greater Johnstown at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
